Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.

I left full time work to focus on family, chase tech that excites me, and direct my career towards something more meaningful.
While I am still unclear where I'll find meaning in my career, I am having a lot of fun working with the Beam, Elixir, and Phoenix.
I'm having my first child! A baby girl!
I worked full-time building and maintaining Estée's global enterprise e-commerce system. I spent most of my time on the payments team working the full stack. I had the most fun being on the ground floor of a modernization effort based around the Beam and Elixir.
I launched a few moderately successful Wordpress plugins, but pulled the plug early to focus on Estée Lauder.
Bye bye Colorado. Back to my home state. To my favorite little foothills.
I pursued my dream of working as a fully remote software engineer (pre-covid!). I took on full stack work primarily utilizing PHP, Javascript, and bumbling through whatever front-end frameworks the current project was using. This was the first time I gained a lot of valuable experience turning business requirements into technical solutions.
I cut my teeth as a back-end engineer using a PHP LAMP stack at a real estate start-up. Booj eventually sold to RE/MAX.
I traded in the Sierra Nevadas and Santa Cruz mountains for a skyline - looking to jump start my career.
I spent a combined 2 years in Ghana working with local NGOs. Ultimately I ended up at an intership with CDD Ghana where I worked on web and SMS distribution of education, health, and water quality data.
I graduated with a degree in Global Information and Social Enterprise Studies. A specialized program focused on taking social justice oriented students and injecting technological solutions into their repertoire.
